In this lesson you will learn how to play the DHI Bol on Tabla. DHI is a very simple Bol. DHI is the combination of Ti and Ghay Bol. When we play Ti and Ghay togather at the same time the Bol which is produced is DHI. It is very simple to play and there should not be any difficulty while playing this Bol. A lesson is also given at the end for practicing of this Bol. The lesson which given at the end is actually Kaharwa which is very famous Taal and approximately this Taal is used in 80% of music in all over the world. Kaharwa is taal of eight (8) beats. Tabla Lesson # 4 How to produce Tay sound Combine with Ta Ti | Masihi Channel

TAY is a Tabla Bol which is very important and it is played with Index finger of the hand which is being used to play the small drum of the Tabla. But this time the edge of Tabla is not used but the middle of the Sihai which is the black round part is used to produce the sound. The sound produce this way is similar to the TI sound but as it is played with a different finger it different word is used for it. One can play this sound very easily. The Tip of the Index finger is used to produce this sound. It is a very wonderful Bol and it is used in many compositions. Practice is required to get familiar with this Bol. Welcome to lesson one of Tabla training. In this lesson, Pervez Masih taught how to count the beat on the fingers. Every measurable thing in this world has some kind of unit which is used to measure it. In tabla, we use our hands for counting the beat. The four lines on a finger are used to count. Total sixteen lines are on our four fingers. Thumb is used as a needle on a clock. Our thumb moves on the fingers as a needle moves inside a clock. This lesson will help Tabla students to get an idea of how beat is counted on fingers. Nowadays many modern applications are also available for our phones which can be used to practice the Tabla.
